Episode 161: Listener Q&A: Co-parenting with a Narcissist, Dealing with a Manipulative Co-parent, and Supporting Your Children Through Divorce

Earlier this month I aired a listener Q&A episode which ended up being a favorite of listeners, as well as women in my Facebook group. It’s important to me to cover topics that resonate with you. So, here I am again, with another Q&A episode! This time I answer four questions around the topics of supporting your children through divorce, including co-parenting with a narcissist and how to handle a manipulative co-parent. I also cover how to communicate you want a divorce to a partner who struggles with mental illness.

If you like this Q&A format, I need your questions. You can submit them anonymously.  Submit your questions or story, right here. I hope to hear from you soon.

In this episode, I answer these listener questions:

  • Can you provide suggestions or resources for children of narcissistic parents?
  • How do you get out of a marriage or co-parent when your partner struggles with mental illness?
  • What to do when your soon-to-be-ex-spouse tries to take full custody, restricts parenting time, and claims unfounded allegations, false narratives, or manipulative behavior to make you look like an unfit parent?
  • I am worried about the effects on my children after staying in a marriage with a narcissist for 28 years. How can I support my children after staying in a marriage with and then divorcing a narcissist?
