author of The D Word: Making the Ultimate Decision About Your Marriage, and host of the critically acclaimed and New York Times recommended podcast The Divorce Survival Guide Podcast.
Fifteen years ago, I was trapped in a marriage filled with emotional abuse, struggling to find a way out. I felt alone, confused, and lost. But I found my strength—and I’m here to help you find yours.
I’m a certified Domestic Violence Advocate, Co-Parenting Specialist, and High Conflict Divorce Coach, and during this retreat, I will guide you, alongside 13 other women, on a powerful journey to reconnect with yourself, heal from trauma, and start anew.
Accommodations: Three nights at the stunning Ancient Springs Retreat Center in Sedona, Arizona, a tranquil haven nestled among natural springs and serene landscapes.
Meals: All meals prepared by private chefs using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our chefs cater to all of your dietary needs (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.), and their love of their craft will leave you feeling nurtured and cared for in ways you can only imagine. (Seriously, past participants cried over their love and care.)
Workshops and Healing Sessions: Engage in deep, transformative workshops designed to help you heal, rebuild, and reclaim your life.
Community and Connection: Bond with a small group of women who are walking the same path. This is a space for vulnerability, strength, and shared experiences. Women who have attended past retreats have become lifelong friends.
Please note that The Ancient Springs Retreat Center is an alcohol-free facility and smoking is allowed only in the designated area.
Our private chefs, Shell and Roxy, are experienced in accommodating various dietary preferences and needs. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and low or no sugar options are available with sufficient advance notice. Meals are served as a buffet with multiple beverage options, including filtered water, coffee, and a slection of teas available throughout the day.
All rooms are double occupancy, with two twin beds in each room. We will do our absolute best to accommodate any requests.
This retreat is an opportunity for you to meet new people, make new friends, and work on yourself. Bringing a friend for the fun of it is not allowed. If you really want to bring a friend, they need to be also going through divorce, and should be familiar with Kate’s work. The entire group should be there for the same purpose, otherwise it can be disruptive to the group as a whole.
Our retreat is booked at The Ancient Springs Retreat Center for the duration of our retreat only. There are plenty of hotels around Flagstaff and Sedona should you wish to enjoy the area for longer than our retreat is planned for.
Transportation is not included in the price of the retreat. You are responsible for your own airfare in and out of Phoenix. Once all flights are booked, we will connect you with people coming in at similar times so you can carpool to the retreat center.
In the past we’ve found it easier and less expensive for people to fly into and out of Phoenix. Flagstaff is closer to Sedona, but there are fewer flights, and they are more expensive.
